Local Outreach

At First Baptist Church, we believe in living out Christ’s love by serving our neighbors throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley. Our missional outreach focuses on meeting practical needs, offering encouragement, and building relationships that reflect the hope of Jesus. Throughout the year, our church engages in a variety of ministries that support individuals, families, and community partners.

Below is an expanded list of our ongoing and seasonal outreach efforts:

Men’s Clothing Closet

Providing free, gently used clothing, coats, shoes, hygiene items, and essential winter gear for men in need. Supported through donations, grants, and volunteers, this ministry continues to grow as word spreads throughout the community.

NA Ministries (Narcotics Anonymous Support)

FBC is committed to supporting individuals on the journey of recovery. We provide space, hospitality, and encouragement for local NA groups who meet regularly in our building. This ministry creates a safe, judgment-free environment for those pursuing healing and new beginnings.

Rehab & Recovery Outreach

Our church partners with several local rehab programs and sober-living communities, offering connection, prayer, clothing support, and invitations to join church events and meals. We are committed to walking alongside individuals in recovery as they rebuild their lives.

Examples include:

  • Supporting residents with clothing and hygiene needs

  • Providing Bibles and devotionals

  • Inviting groups to meals, services, and special events

  • Offering ongoing community, encouragement, and prayer

Downtown Community Outreach

Hosting fellowship gatherings and connection events with our downtown neighbors—offering refreshments, conversation, kindness, and prayer. These outreach moments build trust and friendships with individuals often overlooked.

Market Manor Outreach

Regular visits offering encouragement, fellowship, baked goods, and relationship-building with residents at Market Manor.

Monster Mash, Trunk-or-Treat & Seasonal Events

FBC engages fully in community-wide events by providing games, candy, hot chocolate, cider, and joyful hospitality—reaching hundreds of children and families each year.

Fill the Pew – Christmas Collection Drive

Our annual holiday outreach that gathers winter gear, socks, gloves, hats, and toiletries for the Men’s Clothing Closet and for men in shelters or recovery programs.

Thanksgiving Fellowship Meal

A warm, open invitation to attend worship and enjoy a holiday meal together, offering hospitality to both the congregation and the broader community.

Worship in the Park

Outdoor worship services at local parks such as Quincy Hill and Fort Boreman—expanding our visibility and welcoming neighbors to join us in a relaxed, natural setting.

Community Partnerships

We are honored to partner with:

  • Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley

  • The Escape Student Ministries

  • Local schools

  • Civic and service organizations
These partnerships help us reach deeper into the community and support meaningful work being done locally.

Children & Youth Outreach

From Vacation Bible School and Fall Rally participation to Snow Camp, youth ministry nights, and community events, FBC invests deeply in building strong foundations of faith for children and teens.

Special Celebrations & Care Support

FBC extends hospitality through birthday celebrations, care ministry, prayer support, meal blessings, and acts of kindness for both members and neighbors in need.
